The Mets lost a tough one yesterday, by a score of 2-1, but they were in the game until the end. It was the second consecutive game where the line on Pelfrey looks good. Unfortunately, the line is only part of the story.
It was great to see Pelfrey able to pitch out of jams and only give up one run. I honestly believe that means he is learning. Still, as Met announcers pointed out, only Pelfrey’s fastball was working yesterday. Obviously a starting pitcher is not going to be able to succeed with one pitch, although he did Yesterday. Hopefully it will all come together very soon for Mike.
